Diabetes and Nutritional Management at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital

The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and the Diabetes Management Center are certified by the American Diabetes Association for meeting the national standards for diabetes self-management education.

Diabetes Education

Learning about diabetes is the first step in gaining control of the complications of the disease. Through group or individual classes, an experienced team of certified diabetes educators, nurses and nutritionists work together with you, your loved ones and your physician to create an individual medication, diet and lifestyle plan to help you manage and control your diabetes.

This program is provided for patients who have been recently diagnosed with diabetes or those who have had the disease for a number of years.

Individual appointments also can be made with a diabetes nurse educator and/or dietitian to meet each patient's needs including patients with disabilities or who do not speak English.
