In July of 2018, Fremont Health and Nebraska Methodist Health System formed a Strategic Partnership that was designed to enhance, expand, and strengthen health care programs and services throughout the region. Nebraska Methodist Health System created a new organization known as Methodist Fremont Health and on October 1st, 2018, Fremont Health transferred its responsibility for owning and operating the health system to Methodist Fremont Health and its parent Nebraska Methodist Health System. Methodist Fremont Health established a new Board of Trustees composed largely of Dodge County residents.
On that same date, October 1st 2018, Fremont Health adopted a new mission and a new name - Fremont Community Health Resources. FCHR is now responsible for administering the Fremont Health Employee Pension Plan and for ensuring that NMHS complies with the terms of the Strategic Partnership. Accordingly, FCHR receives regular annual payments from the Nebraska Methodist Health System, and these payments are deposited in the Pension Fund. Fremont Community Health Resources has a three person local board appointed by the Dodge County Supervisors.
