We value the many hours of service and commitment given by our 150 volunteers and offer useful benefits to them.

Many volunteer opportunities are available to provide service and interaction with residents, including companionship, transport assistance to and from the resident beauty shop, and Bingo
Delivery Services – Mail, Newspapers, Flowers
Delivers mail, newspapers, and flowers to Methodist Fremont Health patients and Dunklau Garden residents. Volunteers also help set tables for noon and evening resident meals. Morning or afternoon shifts are available.
Assist with filing, copying, answering telephones, as well as other clerical duties in departments, such as Volunteer Services, Finance and Human Resources, etc. Duties may also include working on various projects as needed, sending out mailings, data entry and preparing new patient packets.
Emergency Department Volunteer
Assist the health care team by greeting patients, assisting with patient’s room assignments, communicating with families, and maintaining patient comfort while in the emergency room. Responsibilities also include restocking shelves, making sure that rooms are patient ready, and delivering lab tests as necessary.
Greet patients and visitors using AIDET tools of communication. Escort patients to their appointments in various areas of Methodist Fremont Health. Maintain a supply of wheelchairs.
Visitation, companionship and support for the patient and their family. Assist with day-to-day activities, including light housekeeping, laundry, shopping and transportation. Provide respite care during the absence of caregiver. Assist with varied office and clerical activities such as preparation of mailings, updating files and other functions.
Information Desk Volunteer
Provide information to patient’s families and visitors, patient and resident room information for Methodist Fremont Health patients and Dunklau Garden residents. Our Information Desk Volunteers use their AIDET skills helping to provide positive patient/visitor experiences.
Surgery Waiting Room Volunteer
Serve as liaisons between the medical and nursing staff and the patient and their families. Duties also include keeping a log of who is waiting with each patient in surgery and maintaining close contact with the Operating Room desk that gives regular updates on a patient’s status.
Snack Service Volunteer
Provide refreshments via a snack cart to families and visitors throughout the Medical Center’s lobbies and waiting areas.
Provide service to customers in a retail setting. Proceeds are periodically donated back to Methodist Fremont Health.
Third Grade Tour Guides
Provide tours on a weekly basis to area third grade classes.
