Exceeding National Standards for Cancer Care
1 of 22 programs nationally and the only program in Omaha to be recognized with the 2019 Outstanding Achievement Award. We have received Accreditation with Commendation based on 34 standards of treatment and care and are dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for those with cancer.
Nationally-Recognized Program for Breast Care
Breast Care Centers at both Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital have been certified for providing quality care which meets or exceeds national standards.

Mammography services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and approved by the FDA.
American College of Radiology Accreditation for PET
Methodist Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) from the American College of Radiology (ACR).
MRI services at Methodist Hospital, Methodist HealthWest and West Dodge Medical Plaza are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
The MRI Accreditation Program evaluates staff qualifications, quality control, MR safety policies and image quality.

We are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Achieving accreditation by these national and International standards organizations shows our commitment to quality, best practices and improving the service we provide to you.
Accredited for national and international quality standards as a Stroke Specialty Program
CARF has also identified Methodist Acute Rehabilitation as a Stroke Specialty Program that focuses on the unique needs of stroke survivors and provides effective rehabilitation.
Accreditation for Stem Cell Transplantation
The stem cell program at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center has achieved accreditation from the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). The accreditation is one of only three awarded to Nebraska facilities.
Lung Cancer Screening Excellence
Methodist is designated by the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer as a Screening Center of Excellence.
CT Designated a Lung Cancer Screening Center
Methodist Hospital CT has been granted the designation of an American College of Radiology (ACR) Lung Cancer Screening Center. The ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center designation recognizes facilities that have committed to practice safe, effective diagnostic care for individuals at the highest risk for lung cancer.
Open-Heart Surgery Program Earns Top Rating from Society of Thoracic Surgeons
Methodist Hospital has been recognized by the Society of Thoracic Surgery (STS) with a 3-star rating for the outcomes of the open-heart surgery program.

The highest level of quality and patient safety
The Methodist Hospital Radiation Oncology Department has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology by the American College of Radiology (ACR). It is awarded only to facilities meeting specific Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards developed by ACR after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
Magnet Designation since 2004
In 2004, Methodist Hospital was the first hospital in Nebraska to earn Magnet Designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in nursing. Magnet status is considered the "gold standard" of nursing. The award recognizes health care organizations exhibiting excellence in nursing services to patients, the existence of an environment that supports professional nursing practice and growth and development of nursing staff.
National Safety Council Award of Merit
Methodist has received the Award of Merit from the National Safety Council, Nebraska Chapter, for outstanding achievement in safety by meeting or exceeding Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for hospitals and health care business Labor Workers' Disability index for injuries, lost time or days away from work.
Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers
This designation shows that our stroke program has met the critical elements of performance to achieve long-term, successful outcomes for stroke patients.
This certification is voluntary and a result of a rigorous on-site review by The Joint Commission in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
American Cancer Society Recognition
Recognition from the American Cancer Society our long-standing commitment to cancer patients through partnership with the Society. Recognition specific to the completion of a collaborative research project evaluating the impact of literature on newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Gold Standard Status for Cancer Registry
The Nebraska Cancer Registry (operated by Methodist Hospital) was awarded The North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) Gold Standard.
Setting Quality Standards for Hospitals Throughout the US
Methodist Hospital has participated in the American College of Surgeons' National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) to improve the quality of surgical care for our patients through data collection, identification of quality improvement targets and implementation of process improvement measures.
PRC Top Performer Patient Experience Awards are given annually to outpatient service lines, inpatient units and outpatient clinics that score at or above the 100th percentile for the Overall Quality of Care percent "Excellent" score in PRC's national client database for the prior calendar year.

The PRC 4-Star Patient Experience Award is given annually to inpatient facilities, outpatient facilities and emergency departments scoring in the top 25 percent nationally — and in the top 75th through 89th percentiles — in PRC's national client database for the prior calendar year. These awards are based on the percentage of patients who answer "Excellent" for the Overall Quality of Care question.

Methodist Health System has joined Age-Friendly Health Systems, an initiative led by The John A. Hartford Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in partnership with the American Hospital Association and the Catholic Health Association of the United States. It’s a movement to deliver safe, reliable, high-quality health care in every setting based on what matters most to older adults as individuals.
