Tobacco Policy

Methodist Hospital is a tobacco-free campus

Tobacco use is not consistent with Methodist Hospital’s mission to protect and improve the health of patients, residents, visitors and staff. Smoking and secondhand smoke are known to cause serious lung diseases, heart disease and cancer.

All Methodist properties are designated as tobacco-free environments. The use of tobacco (including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco), e-cigarettes, and vapor pens are not permitted on any Methodist Hospital-owned property, which includes but is not limited to, buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and Methodist Hospital-owned vehicles.

If you are a tobacco user, talk to your physician about tobacco alternatives while you are in the hospital. Methodist Hospital also provides smoking cessation programs. Please call (402) 354-5237 for more information.
