November 24, 2010Methodist Earns Prestigious Gold Award for Best Quality & Safety Web Communications
Methodist Health System has been recognized with the prestigious Gold Award in the 2010 eHealthcare Leadership Awards for “Best Quality & Safety Communication” on the Internet. Methodist (www.bestcare.org) was the only health system to achieve Gold Award status in the health system category, besting the likes of nationally known institutions like Cleveland Clinic and New York City Health and Hospitals, which earned Silver Awards.
More than 120 health care and Internet experts judged the field of over 1,300 entries. Methodist’s Quality Web site was recognized for excellence in communicating quality measures, outcomes and satisfaction data, as well as for showing best medical practices and the staff continuously works to improve quality of care and patient safety.
“This award is a tremendously positive reflection not only on the clinical staff which delivers high quality care to our patients, but also on our interactive marketing team and its development partners who have created, maintained and updated this site,” said John M. Fraser, president and CEO, Methodist Health System. “We have a very impressive story to tell about the quality of our care and service, and this award affirms our success in communicating this through our Web site.”
Bescare.org hosts more than 70,000 visitors each month. The Quality section (www.methodistquality.com) is among the top 20 most-visited destinations on bestcare.org with approximately 400 unique visits.
This leading awards program exclusively recognizes the very best Web sites of health care organizations (both large and small), online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers, and business improvement initiatives. These awards highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognize the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health Web sites. Winners were recognized at the Fourteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference held last week in Las Vegas.
