Seryia Seay Is October DAISY Award Winner
Seryia "Seri" Seay, RN, in Ortho/Neuro at Methodist Hospital, was honored at a recognition ceremony on Tuesday, October 15, as the October DAISY award winner.
Seri was nominated for the honor by a patient and the patient's spouse, who praised all the nurses as "excellent" while noting that Seri stood out by providing care that went above and beyond.
On the nomination form, the patient's spouse wrote, "This was a very scary time for us, and Seri kept our spirits up. She was always there when needed and had such a cheerful demeanor and great sense of humor."
The couple described a special connection, explaining, "Seri has a deep faith, as we do, and that certainly adds to being a wonderful nurse. We all were praying for manageable results."
They also commented on observing outstanding teamwork, noting Seri showed "a great rapport with all the other nurses and aides. You could tell they had a great relationship working together."
