Geriatric/Senior Services

Many seniors are finding that they have time to enjoy life and take better care of their health. Growing older can also bring health challenges not faced before. Methodist Hospital has the resources to give you or someone you love what is needed to manage health care concerns and enjoy new and exciting opportunities for learning and discovery.

Quality Care for Seniors

The NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) Program at Methodist Hospital was recently awarded "Exemplar" status, the highest of four possible program levels awarded by the international program designed to help hospitals improve the care of older adults. The award recognizes Methodist's ongoing, high-level dedication to geriatric care.

NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) is the premier designation indicating a hospital's commitment to excellence in the care of patients 65-years-and-older.

Methodist Hospital has also achieved Senior Friendly status for its NICHE program. The Senior Friendly status is given to NICHE hospitals that have implemented systemic aging-sensitive policies and included the input of patient, families and other community providers in planning and implementing NICHE initiatives.
