If you or a loved one are scheduled for surgery at Methodist Women's Hospital, we encourage you to take an active role in your surgical experience. Ask questions; understand what is expected of you, and what you can expect of us, before and after the surgery. Surgery Facilities


The surgery department includes:
  • two C-section operating rooms
  • four GYN operating rooms
  • six post-anesthesia care rooms
  • 17 prep/recovery rooms
Within the prep/recovery section, three rooms are dedicated to C-section patients, three are dedicated to reproductive endocrinology patients.

Same-Sided For Safety

All operating rooms are designed with the location of beds, surgical equipment, oxygen lines and other supplies in the same place.

This safety feature minimizes the chance for medical errors and ensures greater efficiencies for physicians and staff.

Waiting for a loved one in surgery

FamilyVue monitors

For those waiting at the hospital during a loved one's surgery, we provide monitors to track the loved one's progress through the procedure. This service, called FamilyVue, displays coded messages that help keep track of the patient's surgical progress.

FamilyVue monitors are located in the Cafeteria and the surgical waiting area on the second floor.

McGowan Family Resource Center

Located west of the Baright Gift Shop in the lobby of the Methodist Women's Hospital, the McGowan Family Resource Center  provides free health information through books, videos and online searches.

Dining and Food Services

We offer an on-site cafeteria and barista area as well as 24-hour food service. Learn more.

 

Magnet Nursing - Excellence for You

In 2004, Methodist Hospital joined only 5% of the nation's hospitals to earn the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet status is considered the "gold standard" of nursing.
