The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program, certified by the American Diabetes Association for meeting the national standards for diabetes self management education, is provided for patients who have been recently diagnosed with diabetes or those who have had the disease for a number of years. Individual appointments also can be made with a diabetes educator or dietitian to meet each patient's needs including patients with disabilities or who do not speak English.

Diabetes/Gestational Diabetes Program

The Jennie Edmundson Hospital Diabetes/Gestational Diabetes Program provides a weekly individualized education program that includes:

• Certified diabetes educator
• Registered nurse
• Registered dietitian
• Other health care providers as needed
• Educational materials
• Blood glucose monitor
