Urogynecology
What is a urogynecologist?
Urogynecologists have completed medical school and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology or Urology. These doctors become specialists with additional training and experience in the evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the female pelvic organs, and the muscles and connective tissue that support the organs.
Methodist Physicians Clinic Women's Center, Omaha, NE, offers the expertise of fellowship-trained urogynecologists and other health care providers who understand the problems women experience with pelvic floor disorders and treat them with compassion and sensitivity.
You may consider visiting a urogynecologist if you have:
- problems with prolapse
- urinary incontinence
- difficulty emptying the bladder or rectum
- pelvic or bladder pain
