The vascular surgeons at Methodist Physicians Clinic Vascular & Vein services have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the circulatory system, outside of the heart.

This includes treatment of arteries such as:

• Carotid arteries (main arteries that supply blood to the brain)
• Aorta (main artery of the chest and abdomen)
• Peripheral arteries (supply blood to the extremities) 

Vascular surgeons also treat diseases affecting the veins including chronic venous insufficiency, phlebitis (vein inflammation), varicose veins and spider veins.

In-House Vascular Lab

Methodist Physicians Clinic Vein & Vascular Services utilizes noninvasive ultrasounds, performed in our in-house Vascular Lab, to evaluate your condition and determine if there are problems with blood flow in veins and arteries. The noninvasive testing allows for the diagnosis of suspected vein and vascular disorders.

Self-Referral Vascular Screening

The Methodist Vascular and Vein Clinic offers Self-Referral Vascular Screenings. These screenings are valuable for people with a high risk of having vascular disease including people who are over 60 years old or have the following health conditions:

• Diabetes
• High blood pressure
• High blood cholesterol
• Family history of atherosclerosis and circulatory problems

Smokers are also at a greater risk for developing atherosclerosis or vascular disease.
