The Methodist Hospital Wound Center is dedicated solely to the treatment and management of acute and chronic wounds. Staffed by nurse practitioners, your primary care physician remains a collaborative partner throughout wound care treatment, and continues to provide all your routine medical care.
Wound care includes:
- Wound assessment and treatment
- Prevention of complications resulting from non-healing wounds
- Disease management
- Patient and caregiver education
Comprehensive, individualized care plans provide treatment for the following types of wounds:
- burns
- arterial and venous leg ulcers
- abscesses
- diabetic and neuropathic foot ulcers
- pressure sores
- surgical incisions
- traumatic injuries
