Electrophysiology Studies
The dedicated electrophysiology lab at Methodist Hospital tests for cardiac arrhythmias.
Highly trained physicians and nurses identify problems with the cardiac conduction system and recommend appropriate treatment. Treatment is generally coordinated through the cath lab, and is accompanied by patient education on management of the device. Treatment options include:
- Cardiac pacemakers
- Internal cardioverter defibrollators
- Ablation therapy
A monthly support group is available for patients who have received an Internal Cardiac Device (ICD) or pacemaker.
