Methodist Breaks Ground on New Gretna Location

GRETNA – On Thursday, Aug. 7, Methodist Health System officials broke ground on a new 14,200 square foot Methodist Physicians Clinic in Gretna, expanding its clinic offerings in the growing Sarpy County area.

The clinic, which will offer family medicine, pediatric and OB/GYN providers, is slated to open in the summer of 2015. Urgent Care services are also scheduled to be available at the Gretna location.

“We are excited about the opportunity to bring Methodist providers and other members of our care team to the Gretna community,” said Todd Grages, president and CEO of Methodist Physicians Clinic. “We recognize this is a growing area of Sarpy County – and we are pleased to be a part of that growth.”

The new clinic will feature 15 patient rooms, ultrasound capabilities, non-stress testing (performed in pregnancies over 28 weeks gestation to measure the heart rate of the fetus in response to its own movements) and two procedure rooms for various in-office offerings. The cost of the clinic is $3.2 million.

“You have many young families that call Gretna home, as well as many residents who have been in the community for generations,” said John Fraser, president and CEO of Methodist Health System. “Our new clinic will offer a medical team well-versed in the health care needs of the entire community. Family medicine, pediatrics and OB/GYN physicians, as well as other medical care providers and office personnel will stand ready to make your visit exceptional.”

Along with representatives from Methodist Health System, others in attendance at Thursday’s groundbreaking included City of Gretna officials, Gretna Chamber of Commerce members, architects from HBA and members of the MCL Construction team.
