Breastfeeding Help

One-on-one care from lactation consultants

When you and your baby are beginning breastfeeding, you both may have some difficulty. Our certified lactation consultants are a source of information and encouragement. They provide specialized one-on-one care and instruction to help new mothers breastfeed successfully.

Lactation consultants can assist in many ways, including:

  • Knowing if your baby is getting enough milk.
  • Teaching how to nurse multiples or babies with special needs.
  • Training to pump and store milk safely.
  • Evaluating breast pain or infections.

While you are in the hospital with your baby, we are available to work with you in your room on any questions or challenges. Once you go home with baby, we are available by phone or email. We also schedule one-on-one meetings with you, if necessary.
