Methodist Physicians Clinic Women's Center Welcomes Dr. Markham

Published: Sept. 5, 2019

OMAHA – Dr. Claire Markham is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center. She sees patients in both the medical office building adjacent to Methodist Women's Hospital (192nd and Dodge Streets) and at Indian Hills (89th and West Dodge Road).

She attended medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine and was a resident at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas.

She was young when she first developed an interest in medicine. Her dad was a dentist, and her mom worked in hospital administration. But it wasn’t until her high school science classes that she discovered how intriguing the human anatomy and physiology are.

Dr. Markham decided to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology after a rotation during her third year of medical school.

“After my first call shift involving multiple deliveries and time in the operating room, I was hooked,” she said.

Dr. Markham is especially interested in the advancement of minimally invasive gynecologic procedures. Having been on the receiving end of patient care at Methodist, she is humbled to be able to provide it.

“When I had the opportunity to return to Omaha after my residency training, I wanted to join the group that made me feel so comfortable as a patient so I could reverse roles and provide that same care to women in the community.”

Outside of work, Dr. Markham – a “HUGE Creighton Bluejays fan” – enjoys spending time with family and traveling the world. She loves to experience new cultures and try different foods. Whether she’s running, golfing or playing any other sport involving a ball, she enjoys being outside and staying active.

Dr. Markham is now seeing patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center. Call (402) 815-1700 to make an appointment at the 192nd and Dodge location. Call (402) 354-1700 to make an appointment at the 89th and West Dodge Road location.
