Roberts Family Celebrates A Christmas Miracle

Published: Jan. 30, 2015

After 12 days in a coma, Teri Roberts awoke to face a devastating question: Did she want to live without her hands and feet?

Two weeks earlier, the 56-year-old Valley woman had been baking Christmas cookies. She was healthy and active, serving as the primary babysitter for three of her five grandchildren after the brutal 2013 murder of her daughter, Andrea Kruger, at the hands of Nikko Jenkins.

Now Roberts had awakened from her coma in a Methodist Hospital bed a few days before Christmas — to the amazement of her family.

Ryan Roberts, her son and Dr. Patrick McCarville, family practice physician at Methodist Physicians Clinic in Valley, met with the media to share Teri's story.
