One of the best experiences
An open letter to the staff at Methodist Hospital
Over the last few months, I've had two operations. One was a Parathyroidectomy performed by Dr. Bill Lydiatt, who did an awesome job and was very informative both before and after surgery. The nursing care I received was some of the best I've ever experienced in all the hospitals I've been in.
My second surgery was more of a surprise because I wasn't aware that my heart valve had deteriorated to the point it needed immediate replacement. Also, my kidney transplant of 17 years had failed at the same time. Dr. Charles Olson and Dr. John Batter were both very informative and help me understand the surgery and did thorough testing to make sure the surgery was successful.
Finally, I would like to say something about the extraordinary care I received from the nursing staff. They were the most caring and knowledge nurses I've ever had in all my years, in and out of hospitals. They were also very nice and informative to my family that stayed with me. I'm also hard of hearing and they were very patient and understanding when having to repeat things more than once. They were always there when I needed them and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.
They were the most caring and knowledge nurses I've ever had in all my years, in and out of hospitals.
All of the nurses were great, but there are two, in particular, I would like to recognize by name. One was Jocelyn and the other one was Lindsay. Both were very good at helping me through the toughest time after surgery. I can't say enough good things about all of the nurses, but those two stand out as very caring and helpful.
I'm now finishing cardiac rehab, and again the knowledge, attention and care I've received have helped me on the road to recovery. They have given me the tools to maintain my cardiovascular health. I would highly recommend Methodist to anyone in the Omaha area that expects great care from knowledgeable and experienced doctors and nurses.
